Hi folks,
Thank you all for the notes and support over the past couple weeks with regards to my dad's passing. It's been tough and will be for a while going forward, but family brings us through and I've got a pretty amazing family.
Tomorrow is the start of the official season. That means High School skiers must be at practice every day that it is scheduled and Middle School skiers must be there on the days they are scheduled. Coach Keene usually sends out an update for MS specific skiers.
Middle School skiers are welcome to practice every day as well, but there's usually not an organized carpool to Proctor on days when Coach Keene isn't there.
Proctor is planning on having us show up later this week, so we'll be on snow at Proctor Wednesday--Friday. That means, have your skis scraped of summer wax BEFORE Wednesday. The trailer will be at the high school for ski bag drop off Monday-Wednesday and then it'll be at Proctor.
We have many more skiers than loaner pairs of roller skis, so some folks will be doing dryland practices Monday-Wednesday. If you have your own or a pair of the team's please bring them to practice tomorrow. Also, you must have some high-visibility/reflective clothing on for roller skiing. It's just too dangerous otherwise.
This week is Freestyle/Skate technique:
Monday: Over distance 3:00-4:25 from Middle School
Tuesday: Easy technique 3-4:25
Wednesday: No pole skiing 3:15-5:00 at Proctor
Thursday: No pole skiing technique 3:15-5 at Proctor
Friday: No pole skiing (intervals) 3:15-5 at Proctor
Saturday: Optional search for snow- Prospect Mt. or Dublin School for some distance with speeds.
Here is a link to join the REMIND class that will go out to folks' mobile phones with information when there's a change or cancellation to our plan that is posted here.
