December 3, 2023

Hi folks,

Welcome to the regular season! It'd be nice if this snowfall were just a bit more robust, but we'll take whatever we can get.

I spent the weekend at the Holderness School doing a Technical Delegate (TD) and Event Organizer (EO) training seminar. We got to review some technique violations and some changes to the rules as well as going over all the parts to put on a race. We host two races this year and I'll be looking for lots of assistance.

Before we get too far, if you have summer wax on your skis, please scrape and brush them before we're on snow on Thursday.

Also, if you have roller ski ferrules on your poles, bring them (and your snow ferrules) tomorrow and we'll change them over.

This week we'll have (hopefully) some time on snow and some time working on strength, balance, and endurance.

This week:

Monday: practice @ HS General Strength 3:00-4:30 PLUS- equipment check. MS&HS

Tuesday: practice @ HS Interval workout 3:00-4:30

Wednesday: off day (do a recovery activity- run or roller ski)

Thursday: practice @ Proctor Ski Area 3:15-5:00 pm Skate technique and distance MS&HS

Friday: practice @ Proctor 3:15-5:00 pm Distance with speeds or Skate technique MS&HS

Next weekend, I'll be up at Craftsbury to officiate the two races there. Try to get some distance work in on your own.

See you all tomorrow!
