Good morning!

Well, it looks like this will be a roller coaster winter. After the sub-optimal precipitation on Tuesday-Wednesday last week, it was -2F at my house this morning. It also looks like this week may have another roller coaster weather wise. We will persevere.

Perseverance is an important trait for all Nordic skiers. Skiers who have been skiing for many years need to persevere with improving their technique and bringing the same energy and enthusiasm to practices and events. Skiers who are new to the sport need to persevere with learning a new sport that is hard. It is hard because the weather doesn't always cooperate and because the skills take about one year to develop the muscle memory to actually feel like one knows what they are doing. Remember that as we move through the season and support each other in whatever way you can.

This week:

Monday: Practice @ Proctor 4:00-5:30 Freestyle easy distance for experienced skiers, freestyle technique work for new skiers. Uniforms will be distributed at the end of practice.

Tuesday: Practice @ Proctor 4:00-5:30 Freestyle intervals and games, skiers going to Craftsbury will be doing Classic

Wednesday: Practice @ Proctor 4:00-5:30 Freestyle Pre and Post race activities. Step turning and downhill cornering

Thursday: Practice @ Proctor 4:00-5:30  Freestyle time trial and games. Skiers going to Craftsbury will be doing Classic

Next week (vacation):

Monday 12/23 practice @ Proctor 8:30-10:30 am Classic skiing

Friday 12/27 practice @ Proctor 4:00-5:30 (maybe earlier if we can get on the snow) Classic skiing

That's all for now.
